Jammu Airport also known as Satwari Airport is an airport in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The longest flight from Jammu Airport is 677 miles. The shortest flight out of Jammu Airport is 89 miles. There are 14 flights per week flying on small aircraft from Jammu Airport. There are 7 airlines operating out of Jammu Airport. Jammu and Kashmir Governor, S. K. Sinha, inaugurated an information, assistance and prasad counter of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at the Jammu airport here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor explained that since Jammu is the point of disembarkation of a majority of pilgrims, a need was long felt by the management of the Board to provide information and assistance to the visiting devotees' right at the place of arrival. The Board already has a counter at the Jammu railway station as well as a sub-office, but till the inauguration of this counter, no such facility was available for devotees travelling to Jammu by air. The counter was aimed at plugging this gap.
Besides, providing information on the Yatra, various facilities like accommodation, means of transportation, medical facilities would be arranged by the counter. It shall also provide information about other religious and tourist spots in the Jammu region. In addition, the devotees would be able to buy various items of `bhaint' and `prasad' including chunnies, challas, silver and gold medallions and other items associated with the pilgrimage. The greatest advantage associated with the counter would be the facility of booking rooms, pooja and helicopters tickets from the airport.
