Indian Railways completes automatic signaling on entire Pune-Lonavala route in Maharashtra - Inside details
 

Improving signaling systems of Indian Railways is a continuous process and the national company has taken several measures to improve the safety of railway traffic. Recently, the Ministry of Railways completed the automatic signaling work on the entire Pune-Lonavala stretch of Maharashtra. The move comes after the inauguration of the last stretch from Khadki to Pune on November 26.

This will improve the line capacity of the Pune-Lonavala section and facilitate safe and smooth movement of trains on the state section. It will also minimize human dependence on the railway company. The 64 km long area is under the administrative control of the Central Railway Zone (CR).

The existing automatic signaling sections of the central railway are:

The Central Railway has so far completed the automatic signaling works on the 339.14 kilometer railway line. Of these, Zonal Railways has completed automatic signaling works on 201.08 km in Mumbai division i.e. between CSMT-Kalyan, CSMT-Panvel, Thane-Nerul-Kharkopar, Kalyan-Karjat, Kalyan- Titwala, Diva-Dativali and Diva-Panvel. .

Bhusawal division has completed the automatic signaling works on the 55.32 km route between Jalgaon-Bhusawal and Bhusawal-Bodwad routes. The Nagpur division has completed the work on the 18.74 kilometer route i.e. between Khapri-Nagpur and Nagpur-Godhni routes. The Pune division has completed the work of a 64 km route on the Lonavala-Pune stretch.

Ongoing work on new automatic signaling in Central Railway:-

Ferrocarril Central aims to complete the automatic signaling works on the 61.27 kilometer stretch this year. These are: (a) 38.35 km in Biswabridge-Nandura-Jalamb-Shegaon section of Bhusaval division and (b) 22.92 km in Wardha-Kaotha division of Nagpur.
