PM inaugurates Udyogpuri in Ujjain and Logistics Park in Pithampur
 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a number of important projects. Among these were the Vikram Udyogpuri industrial estate in Ujjain, a multi-modal logistics park in Pithampur, and academic buildings at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT-I). Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi, who was in Gwalior at the time, stated that these initiatives, especially Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain and the Multimodal Logistics Park, would significantly boost the industrial growth of Madhya Pradesh. Vikram Udyogpuri, which covers 458 hectares, had received significant investments totaling around Rs 42 billion from 39 units. Six industries were already operational while others were in talks with the state government for their investments. Well-known companies like PepsiCo India, Amul, Ashirvad Pipes, Symbiotic Life, Karnataka Antibiotics, Yashoda Linen and Srinivas Pharma showed interest in investing in Vikram Udyogpuri. Addressing the audience during the live program with Prime Minister Modi, Ujjain MP Anil Firojiya said the Aditya Birla Group was considering a significant investment of Rs 5,000 crore in Ujjain. He assured that he was actively involved in industries considering investments in the city. Rajesh Rathod, Executive Director, MP Industrial Development Corporation Indore, described the inauguration of Vikram Udyogpuri and the multi-modal logistics park as a historic moment. He emphasized that these industrial and logistics developments would improve industrial infrastructure, attract more investment and create employment for thousands of people. Besides, the Prime Minister inaugurated academic buildings, student hostels under the PM-AJAY program and the third phase of infrastructure development at IIT-I.
