The government has taken a strategic step towards capitalizing on opportunities in the fast-growing hydrogen export sector, with plans to convert three key ports in the country into green hydrogen hubs. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, aims to propel India to a prominent position in the green hydrogen market.
The selected ports namely Kandla, Paradip and Tuticorin are earmarked for this transformative endeavor. The primary goal is to develop the necessary infrastructure within these ports to facilitate the entire spectrum of activities related to green hydrogen, including production, storage, transhipment and bunkering. In addition, the focus extends to green ammonia and its derivatives.
