The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd. has started an open e-tender for the construction of a tunnel (metro) connecting Bihar Museum and Patna Museum, with an expected investment of $4.2688 billion, including 18% GST.

Covered under contract PC-08R, the scope includes "Design and construction of single tunnel (METRO) between Bihar Museum and Patna Museum using Shield TPM, along with fire escapes, supporting buildings, entry/exit structures with architectural finishing, water supply, sanitation installation and drainage works in Patna."

A $10 million bond is required to participate in the tender. In particular, payment of the tendering security must come from the bidder's personal account. For joint ventures (JVs) or consortia, this deposit may be withdrawn from the JV/Consortium account or that of a constituent member.

The ambitious project is expected to be completed within a 30-month timeframe.

Scheduled for September 1, 2023, a virtual pre-bid meeting is scheduled, facilitated by software apps such as Cisco Webex. Potential bidders are required to register participating staff (up to two people) for the virtual meeting by August 31, 2023.

Registrations are scheduled to begin on September 19, 2023 and will remain open until September 26, 2023. The DMRC's forward-looking initiative marks a significant step toward improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
