Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has announced that the Port of Mundra in Gujarat, India, has successfully anchored one of the world's longest container ships. The ship, named MV MSC Hamburg, has an impressive length of 399 meters and a width of 54 meters, equal to the dimensions of four football fields, according to APSEZ's statement.
The container ship, built in 2015, arrived at the port of Mundra on 2 July 2023. With a payload of 15,908 TEU (twenty feet equivalent unit), MV MSC Hamburg demonstrates the port's ability to handle large-scale maritime operations, as highlighted by APSEZ.
Following a temporary suspension of operations due to Cyclone Biparjoy as prescribed by the government, Mudra Port has now resumed all its services. As APSEZ's flagship port and an essential part of the diverse Adani Group, Mudra Port stands as India's largest integrated transportation company.
