On March 29, the P North Ward took steps to demolish 87 buildings blocking the Goregaon-Mulund linkage road. The BMC called this measure crucial for easing the traffic congestion connecting Mumbai's western and eastern districts. The operation was conducted over an area of 700 meters between Dindoshi's Civil and Sessions Court and Film City Marg Intersection. According to a press statement from BMC, the course of the road within the boundaries of P North division has now been almost completely cleaned.
The ambitious project of building the 12 km long Goregaon Mulund Link Road has been taken on by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Out of this distance, the P North Division will be responsible for around 2.8 km of the road. Although the projected width of this route is roughly 45.70 metres, the construction of the road would be hindered by a total of 237 outlying structures that are located inside the P north ward's boundaries.
According to P North Division Assistant Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar, almost all structures that obstruct the Goregaon-Mulund road within the boundaries of the P North Division now have have been removed, and this will allow the department concerned to begin the broadening of the Goregaon Mulund Road.
