The National Highway Authority of India awarded a project worth Rs 1,272 crore to the TTIPL-RVNL consortium, which emerged as the lowest bidder (L1).
The consortium consists of TTIPL with a 51 percent stake and RVNL with the remaining 49 percent stake.
The scope of work for the project includes the six lanes of a 37.3 km greenfield Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata highway from Sonepurbigha village to the intersection with NH-22 (Chatra bypass) in Jharkhand.
The project is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana and will be implemented on a hybrid annuity model for Package-8. This initiative is expected to significantly improve connectivity in the region, boosting trade and commerce.
