A significant landslide caused the Bailey Bridge in Bharmour to collapse on February 3, 2023.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Prime Minister of Himachal, complimented the efforts of the PWD engineers to complete the construction of the bridge in record time. A new Bailey bridge at Choli on the Kharamukh-Holi route was virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. About 15,000 residents of 10 grams of panchayats in the area will benefit from the 190-ft span bridge, which was built in a month and a half at a cost of Rs 250 million.

On February 3, 2023, the bridge collapsed due to a significant landslide. The position was virtually attended by former minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri and deputy commissioner DC Rana in Chamba. The achievements of the engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) in completing the construction of the bridge in record time received praise from the Prime Minister. He also expressed his gratitude to Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister of Public Works, for his personal interest in speeding up the construction of this bridge.

Sukhu emphasized the improved road infrastructure in the state and stated that the current government was determined to give the people of the state the largest road connections so that they would not experience hardships. He claimed that to ensure commuting, the public works office had been tasked with prioritizing road maintenance and other widening projects. The NHAI has given its general approval for the construction of a dual carriageway project from Shimla to Matour with an expenditure of Rs 100 billion and Rs 120 billion for the four-lane from the Pathankot to Mandi road, which will significantly improve user comfort and also save them time.
