Mumbai :

According to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), construction of the Mumbai Underground Metro Line 3 has been completed to approximately 60% of its original size (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ).

The first underground metro corridor in Mumbai is the 33.5 km Metro-3 corridor which runs along Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ.

The test run of Metro-3's Aqua Line started on August 30th.

Phase 1 of the project has reached 82% of full progress.

Phase 1 drives are nearly 90% ready and 55% of system work is complete.

In preparation for the track-laying work, the end-hardened (HH) rails are set up. The HH rails can withstand more than 50% more pressure than normal rails.

They are manufactured in Japan and imported there.

By placing these rails, the amount of 22VdB (vibration measurement) noise and vibrations during the running of the trains is reduced.

India will use low vibration track (high attenuation) technology for the first time.
