1.9 MW Rooftop Solar Project Tender by Railways in West Bengal

The project is expected to cost INR 67.42 million and has a completion window of 12 months from the date the work order is received. The opening of the bids will take place on 24 January 2023 and the bids must be submitted before that date. A deposit of INR 487,100 is required from each bidder. The design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 38 units of grid-connected rooftop solar systems for 50 KW three-phase power with a voltage ranging from 200 V to 1,000 V are all within the scope of work. Each pitch must have a minimum installed capacity of 10 KW.

In addition, solar system components and accessories, such as junction boxes, cables, grounding, and junction box mounting structures, must be provided by the chosen developers. The defects and malfunctions of the solar module must be guaranteed by the developer for at least the first five years after commissioning. In the past seven years, tenderers had to have completed three projects of a similar nature each costing at least 30% of the project cost, two projects of a similar nature each costing at least 40% of the project cost, or one project of a similar nature costing at least 60% of the project costs.

Work experience certificates from listed companies or organizations with a government affiliation that have achieved an average annual turnover of at least INR 5 billion during the previous three fiscal years are eligible for the tender. The company must also have been incorporated at least five years prior to the closing date for registration, be listed on the BSE or National Stock Exchange, and meet other requirements. Indian Railways aims to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 and is committed to 100% electrification of its broad gauge network, Ashwini Vaishnav of the Ministry of Railways announced in December. Until October 2022, the Railways has installed about 142 MW of solar energy on unoccupied lots and roofs.
