SYSTRA MVA Consulting - DB Engineering & Consulting JV was awarded the General Consultant (GC) contract for Mumbai Metro's 9.20 km Line-10 (Gaimukh - Shivaji Chowk) and 20.7 km Line-12 (Kalyan - Taloja).

Through the Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) methodology, the consortium was chosen in July 2022 as the preferred bidder for the contract. Their bid of Rs 2.65 billion and aggregate score of 91.06 beat AECOM-HILL JV and AYESA-KNR JV.

The appointment of the SYSTRA-DB JV to assist the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is expected to pave the way for the rapid implementation of both lines by assisting in design, supervision, safety, quality control and contract management for civil and systems work.

The short scope of the project includes GC-07A Appointment of a General Consultant for Civil and System Works of Mumbai Metro Line 10 (Gaimukh - Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) and Mumbai Metro Line 12 (Kalyan-Taloja) of MMRDA's Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

According to MMRDA, the estimated duration of both projects is 54 months.

Line 4/4A (Green Line) will be extended west to Line 10 (Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk), with four stops at Gaimukh Reti Bundar, Varsova Char Phata, Kashimira and Shivaji Chowk.

A 20.75 km southern extension of the 24.95 km long Line-5 (Orange Line) would be built as Line-12 (Kalyan to Taloja), with 17 stops at Ganesh Nagar, Pisvali Gaon, Golavali, Dombivli MIDC, Sagaon, Sonarpada, Manpada, Hedutane, Kolegaon, Nilaje Gaon, Vadavali, Bale, Waklan, Turbhe, Pisarve Depot, Pisarve, Taloja. The depot of the route is planned for Pisarve.
