NHIDCL signs MoU with NIT Manipur for highways construction

NHIDCL signs MoU with NIT Manipur for highways construction
 

The National Institute of Technology, Manipur (NIT Manipur) and National Highways Infrastructure Development Corp. Ltd. (NHIDCL) have signed a MoU to extend their collaboration in the field of highway engineering and other infrastructure projects, according to a statement from the ministry of road transport & Highways.

According to the statement, "National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), a CPSE under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, is looking and promoting innovative technologies to find workable solutions to the challenges of the construction of highways dealing with extreme climatic conditions.

Both NHIDCL and NIT Manipur are leading national organizations in their respective professions, and they have come together to work together as a team to achieve national goals with the greatest amount of cooperation and skill.

According to the press release, “both organizations will use their unique expertise to work on road infrastructure and highway engineering projects.

The national roads & The Mission of Infrastructure Development Corp. is supporting cutting-edge technology to develop workable solutions to the difficulties associated with building highways in regions with extreme climatic conditions.

IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, CSIR-CRRI, NSDC, IIT Patna, NIT Srinagar, NIT Agartala, NIT Silchar, NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Nagaland, NIT Sikkim, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mandi and NIT Jote, Arunachal Pradesh all have signed MoUs with NHIDCL as part of that process.

According to the ministry, NHIDCL has already signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati and is currently in talks to do the same with other IITs and NITs.

To sign Memorandums of Understanding, NHIDCL has also started talking to other IITS and NETS. This would help NHIDCL implement advanced technologies and find a workable one solution to the problems of highway construction in difficult hilly and border locations.
