BMRCL to complete extended Namma Metro line

Bengaluru :

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has begun work on an open web girder that will span a railroad track in east Bengaluru. The construction of an open-web girder is part of Namma Metro's Phase II extended metro line from Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield.

BMRCL has started testing a 15 km metro line between KR Puram and Whitefield. The trial will run on the section from Baiyappanahalli to KR Puram only after building the open web girder after laying tracks and installing signaling equipment. BMRCL started work after receiving permission from South Western Railway (SWR).
