NCC inaugurates Viaduct’s last Segment of Pune Metro

Pune :

NCC celebrated the launch of the 10,795 km Reach-1 (PCMC - Range Hills) section of Pune Metro's 16,589 km Purple Line, which will connect PCMC - Swargate through 14 stations.

NCC was awarded the construction of the 31,254 km Reach 1 flyover for the Pune Metro Phase 1 project in February 2017 under a contract of Rs. 4.99 billion. The priority 6 km stretch between PCMC and Phugewadi was inaugurated in March 2022. However, work on the remaining stretches (Phugewadi to Range Hills) has been severely hampered by land acquisition issues.

NCC used a foundry in Tathawade to support the construction of this section, and 3900 segments were cast, the last of which was cast a few days earlier on 19 October 2022.
