For the supply and construction of standard gauge rails for the Underground, Elevated and Subhash Nagar Depot of Bhopal Metro Phase 1, Larsen & Toubro was chosen as the low bidder.

In February, the European Investment Bank (EIB) funded Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MPMRCL) launched a tender for this contract, Package BH-07, with an unspecified end date of 1274 days (3.49 years).

In July, technical bids were opened and 4 bidders were identified. Because the offers from RVNL and VNC did not meet the requirements of the tender, they were rejected.

The work will include the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of standard gauge unballasted track and the supply of fastening systems for elevated and underground sections of the track, as well as unballasted and ballasted track in the depot for the Bhopal Metro Rail Project.
