The Bhopal Railway division has set itself the target of reducing the cost of cleanliness and saving up to Rs 25 crore in the next three years. For the same, the railway division will outsource the cleaning work, railway officials said.
Senior division commercial manager Priyanka Dixit said that according to the guidelines of the Railway Board, the contract for cleaning the stations has been awarded to outside agencies.
The quality cleaning of the area laid down by the track at the station site must be done by the contractor using manpower/machine and cleaning material. The contractor is paid according to the work performed.
Due to these cost savings in spending, the Bhopal division is expected to save about Rs 24.55 crore in the next three years, Dixit added.
Bhopal Divisional Railway Administration is constantly striving to provide a clean, beautiful and pleasant environment to the passengers in the station area.
The cleanliness of station buildings is an essential part of passenger service and to better maintain it, contracts have been awarded with cleaning stations of the Bhopal Division. There will be no compromises on cleanliness, the official said.
