Govt approves six projects under Sagarmala scheme in Andhra Pradesh

Govt approves six projects under Sagarmala scheme in Andhra Pradesh
 

Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, announced that six projects have been approved in Andhra Pradesh under the Sagarmala Plan, which aims to improve and modernize the capacity of large and non-major ports.

The minister told the media that six projects have been approved.

Sonowal said the projects are worth Rs 85.83 crore, of which Rs 43 crore has been approved.

The projects are: Visakhapatnam Port construction of a coastal berth, a passenger jetty each on Bhavani Island, Bheemunipatnam and Kalingapatnam seaplane jetty and upgrading the existing jetty at Kakinada.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is a branch of the Government of India.
