The central government said the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has assessed 40 critical infrastructure projects across India. According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, these included 11 projects previously assessed under PRAGATI by the Prime Minister and also several GatiShakti High Impact projects.
“Special Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Trade and Industry with the Project Monitoring Group (PMG Invest India) assessed 40 critical infrastructure projects across India, bringing issues to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry & Climate change and the Ministry of Railways," the ministry said.
The meeting saw active participation from senior officials from Ministry of Forests, Environment and Climate Change and Ministry of Railways to discuss issues related to forest clearing, railway land use, priority, etc. The two ministries provided clear timelines for the issue resolution. In addition, users agency officials also provided perspectives on the overall progress of projects.
Hubli-Ankola New Line Project (164.44 km), a supercritical railway project stalled over wildlife clearance lawsuits given by the National Board of Wildlife Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor that Sarai Kale Khan connects in Delhi with Modipuram in Meerut through important cities such as Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Muradnagar and Modinagar in Uttar Pradesh with a total length of 82.15 km.
