Nitish launches work on Patna Metro Corridor-II

Patna :

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav jointly launched the construction works on the underground metro section from Corridor-II Patna Junction to Patliputra Bus Terminal in Rajendra Nagar.

Civil work on the underground metro station in the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium has started with the construction of the diaphragm wall (D-wall), the main load-bearing structure to demarcate the station area.

The approximately 82 ft long D-wall, a concrete structure, was inserted into the excavated soil to the same depth. The underground work on the Patna Metro project has started and the above ground work is also being done. All necessary instructions have been given to the officials regarding the construction work.

Corridor-II of Metro Rail will be 7.9 km long and consists of six underground metro stations: Patna Junction (interchangeable station), Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and Rajendra Nagar.

Work on the elevated (overground) section of Corridor-II of Patna Metro is ongoing as it is a priority corridor. It will be 6.5 km long with five elevated stations at Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak (interchangeable station), Bhoothnath, Zero Mile and Patliputra Bus Terminal.
