According to data from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, 4,582 (40.53%) villages in Rajasthan have completed their drone mapping as part of the federal government's SVAMITVA program, which aims to provide village household owners with houses in populated areas a " register of rights."
This was stated by the minister of Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil, in response to an unstarred question on August 2 in the Lok Sabha. In Rajasthan there are 11,304 grams of panchayats.
“SVAMITVA aims to provide the 'record of rights' to owners of village households owning houses in inhabited areas (Abadi) through the issuance of legal property rights (property cards/title deeds). The scheme aims to cover 6.62 lakh villages in the country from fiscal year 2020-21 to 2024-25,” the response said.
“It is being implemented with the joint efforts of the Ministry of Panchayati raj, Survey of India (SoI), state revenue departments, state panchyati raj departments and National Infromatics Center (NIC),” it added.
“States must sign a Memorandum of Understanding with SoI for the implementation of the scheme. So far, 31 states/union territories have signed MoUs with SoI," it further said. “establishing intermediate targets for the states/UTs and Survey of India, regular meeting with states/Survey of India for monitoring, four-level monitoring system at national, state, district and panchayat, handholding states/Union Territories ( UTs) etc. are some of the steps taken by the government for the expedition of the plan.”
