As the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has not received the flight schedule, the inauguration of the newly built Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi near Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh has been postponed until October, said State Civil Aviation Minister Nakap Nalo.

The airport was set to be inaugurated on August 15 to mark India's 75th Independence Day. However, the construction of all infrastructure of the ambitious project has been completed.

All major civil constructions such as the runway, air traffic control (ATC) tower, (intermediate) terminal building, etc. have been completed. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has facilitated inspection by several regulatory bodies and successfully performed flight calibrations and test landings of aircraft last month.
