Telangana: Central government will give support for three airports

Hyderabad :

The central government is ready to extend its support for the construction of three new airports in Telangana if the state government accelerates the required land purchase.

This was said in a letter to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy. Telangana currently has only one operational airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Although there is an airport in Hyderabad, it is not used for regular air travelers as it is only for VIP planes.

Neighboring Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, has six operational civilian airports: Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kadapa and Kurnool.
