More than 80,000 tons of steel were supplied for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project by Bhilai Steel Plant, the flagship facility of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
The 508 km project, which is expected to be completed in October 2028, would connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad with a high-speed rail line where trains will travel at speeds of 320 km/h.
The railway network runs through Mumbai, Thane and Palghar in Maharashtra; and Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The project is being carried out by the National High Speed Rail Corporation.
