A notable milestone in Bengaluru's KR Puram to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) line was reached when the first pile cap for Bagalur Cross metro station was completed.

Six piles, concrete foundation elements that extend 25 m below ground level, are covered by the cap. Approximately 200 pile caps would be installed in the 17 stations along this 37 km Phase 2B route.

The contract for 15 stations on this line, divided into three packages, has been given to NCC Ltd. With the exception of a 900m underground section in the last stop at KIA, the station is mostly elevated.
