At the World Airport Awards 2022, Hamad International Airport was named the world's best airport for the second year in a row at the large-scale public exhibition of the passenger terminal (EXPO) in Paris, France.

Other winners to take home the awards include Singapore Changi Airport, which has won the World's Best Airport Staff Service and the World's Best Airport Dining awards. Istanbul Airport has won awards for the world's best airport shopping and the most family-friendly airport. Tokyo Haneda Airport has won awards for the world's cleanest airport, the world's best domestic airport, the best airport in Asia and the best airport passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) and accessible amenities, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh won the award for The World's Most Improved Airport.
