Mumbai is getting its first travelator which will connect the Mahalaxmi railway station on Western Railway with the Sant Gadge Maharaja Chowk Monorail station, the terminus of the fully elevated corridor which runs over a 20km stretch to Chembur.
At the moment, travelators are only seen at airports, where they are useful for passengers carrying luggage.
SVR Srinivas, metropolitan commissioner, told media that they were considering extending the monorail to Mahalaxmi station and the planned Metro 3 underground station. They are now moving forward with their plans to use a travelator to fill this gap. bridge.
This travelator is placed at a higher altitude by MMRDA.
