The construction work of the Maryada Purshottam Sriram Airport in Ayodhya is progressing rapidly. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is responsible for the construction work at the airport.
According to Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust, the airport entrance and terminal will give travelers the feeling of the Ramayan era.
The government of Uttar Pradesh wants Ayodhya Airport to be operational by the end of December 2023.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the Ayodhya airport model at the third groundbreaking ceremony in Lucknow.
Ayodhya train station is also being redeveloped. The upcoming building of the railway station will also contain Ramayan.
UP's Civil Aviation Department had signed a lease in April to transfer 317,855 acres of land to the AAI for the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya.
A total of 821 acres of land has been designated to carry out this project in three phases.
According to the state government, 317.8 acres of land has been leased to AAI in Phase I. It includes the construction of a 2,200m x 45m runway and other facilities.
Vishal Infrastructure had won the bid for the construction of the track, which has started work under the supervision of AAI.
Officials said Phase I of the project would be completed by April 2023. This airport project is expected to boost religious tourism.
