The Adani Group, which operates seven airports in the country, is trying to spend money on India's largest non-partisan aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organization in an effort to increase its civil aviation portfolio.
The group is investigating a settlement with shareholders of the Mumbai-based Air Works Group to acquire a stake in the 71-year-old aviation agency.
Air Works providers GoAir, IndiGo and Vistara, along with more than a dozen overseas airlines along with Lufthansa, FlyDubai, Etihad, Turkish Airways and Virgin Atlantic. It also counts the Indian Navy among its customers, and earlier this month partnered with Boeing for heavy maintenance overhauls on three Indian Navy P-8I long-range patrol aircraft.
