Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced that the Amritsar-Jamnagar Greenfield Corridor, one of the major greenfield corridors being developed by NHAI, is under construction at full capacity.

The corridor links the northern industrial and agricultural centers of the country with the major ports of western India such as Jamnagar and Kandla. This will give impetus to the industrial revolution connecting the industrial belt of Baddi, Bhatinda and Ludhiana through foothills and the state of Jammu and Kashmir through Delhi - Amritsar - Katra Expressway.

The flagship 1,224 km long Amritsar - Bhatinda - Jamnagar Corridor is being developed at a total investment cost of Rs 26,000 Crore and will connect the economic cities of Amritsar, Bhatinda, Sangaria, Bikaner, Sanchore, Samakhiyali and Jamnagar in the four states of Punjab, Haryana , Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The 277 km stretch from Bikaner to Jodhpur is slated to be completed and opened to the public by the end of this year. The entire corridor is expected to be completed by September 2023.

The Trans-Rajasthan Corridor will greatly reduce transit time and fuel logistics costs, and will help it sustain in the competitive global export market.
