Railway Projects Valued at Rs 720 Billion to Launch in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Railways Minister had assured him that the ministry was ready to implement railway projects worth Rs 720 billion in the state.

During a meeting, he directed the authorities to complete all ongoing railway projects in the state as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister chaired a discussion with officials from both the Railway Ministry and the State Government on land acquisition and the current status of railway projects, stressing the need to review the progress of all ongoing works.

When asked about the reasons for the delays in certain projects, the Prime Minister made several suggestions to complete these projects as soon as possible.

He expressed concern that the lack of progress in all projects was due to policies implemented by the previous administration and directed officials to take immediate action to ensure that all projects were completed on time. He also stated that necessary measures would be taken to address issues relating to land acquisition.

To facilitate speedy completion of projects and resolve challenges in land acquisition, the Chief Minister decided to set up a task force comprising officials from the departments of Railways, Revenue and Roads & Buildings (R&B).

He specifically requested that the Kotipalli-Narsapur railway line be completed within four months. He also approved immediate release of Rs 200 million for acquisition of 11 acres along the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line and instructed officials to take up the Sattupalli-Kovvur line project immediately after completion of land acquisition.

Chandrababu Naidu believed that a thorough discussion was needed before taking a decision on the Kadapa-Bengaluru railway line as there had been changes in the alignment. He stressed that all the ongoing railway project works should be completed within three years while doubling works should be completed within four years. He also suggested that better results could be achieved by connecting the road, rail and air networks to complete the project works efficiently.
