In a significant move to support India’s green energy initiative, Uniworld has facilitated the relocation of an entire lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant from China to Gujarat, a move that aligns with the Aatmanibhar Bharat initiative.
The plant, which was originally located 1,100 kilometers from Shanghai, required a massive logistical effort, with Uniworld managing the complex shipment of 87 FEUs (forty-foot equivalent units), 70 percent of which was specialized equipment.
“Uniworld’s meticulous planning and execution were key to the smooth relocation of the plant’s machinery. Approximately 91 containers containing the necessary machinery and equipment were moved in three shipments,” the company said in a statement.
A large portion of the shipment consisted of irregularly sized, non-stackable equipment, requiring 56 specialized pieces of equipment, including flat racks, according to the company. and open covers, to ensure safe transportation. The company consolidated goods from multiple factories, increasing container space for greater profitability while maintaining accuracy in handling and delivery.
“Uniworld’s strategic coordination with heavy lifting machinery such as cranes and forklifts ensures timely movement of equipment. In addition, he said, “Uniworld managed the entire process under a single bill of lading (BL), focusing on strong relationships with carriers and improving logistics synchronization.”
