The Railroad Board has approved K-Rail for the construction of 27 Railways Over Bridges (ROBs) that will help address traffic in the state. Bridge construction will be a major development initiative to be implemented by K-Rail.

For seven ROBs, the social impact analysis has already been completed prior to land acquisition, for which reports have also been submitted to the respective district collectors. In addition to five ROBs in the launch phase, SIA for the Uppala and Vellayil ports have also been completed. The tender procedures for the yard gates of Palli and Nilamboor are progressing. Construction of the ROBs will be carried out according to the MoU signed last July between the state government and the railway ministry.
