EL AL Israel Airlines was established in 1948 and has grown into a prestigious international carrier. In 1961, it operated the first non-stop New York-Tel Aviv flight, setting the world record for longest non-stop commercial flight covering 5,760 statute miles in 9 hours, 33 minutes. In 1988, EL AL Israel Airlines operated its longest non-stop flight in history: Los Angeles-Tel Aviv. the EL AL Board of Directors approved the airline's strategic plan for the next five years and the principles of its implementation.
