Honda Aero helps jet-setters to fly away. A subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., the company specializes in developing a variety of aircraft engines. Honda Aero, founded in 2004, holds a 50% stake in GE Honda Aero Engines, a joint venture with General Electric that produces jet engines in the 1,000 to 3,500 pound thrust class. Honda Aero plans to establish a new corporate headquarters in 2008 and a manufacturing plant in Burlington, North Carolina, that will begin production in 2010. The new facility will make jet engines developed by GE Honda Aero Engines.
